The Old Surgery Frinton - Refurb1
About Us
Situated in the renowned Avenues Conservation Area of Frinton-on-sea, number fourteen Holland Road was converted for use as a doctor’s surgery and dispensary in 1904 having been built by a local builder for himself but then subsequently sold to a pair of local doctors before he had even moved in!

It remained in use as a surgery for many years until, following the death of Doctor R C Hewitt, it was taken over and used as a day care centre for the elderly and infirm of Frinton and its neighbouring areas by Help the Aged and named Hewitt House in the 1980’s. Following the day care centre’s  move to new premises the house fell into the hands of developers who left it to languish for many years  after planning consent to extend and convert it into six flats was refused ………  that’s where we stepped in and our history at The Old Surgery began!

"A lot of hard work, blood, sweat and the odd tear went into the "project"....... but it was worth it!"
